EfkayDa Shiqwan

About

From Maftown
to the big stages.

Born and raised in Mafikeng, Efkay Da Shiqwan fell in love with music as a boy and turned it into a craft.

He started out behind the decks, then moved into the studio, where he built the warm, soulful deep-house sound he's known for today. As a producer he has worked with respected names in the genre, including Deep Essentials, Odd Xperience, Tiyani, Gusto Jazz, Soultouch Deeps, Kaylow, KVRVBO, Alton Miller, Dvine Brothers, Soullshvker, MR SHANE, Luke Matthews and SoloThato.

Since his first release, The Vibes, in 2021, he has put out a steady run of records, several through Groove On Records, including his biggest hit to date, the 2023 single Good Times. In 2024 came Masterstroke, the album that picked up airplay on major radio stations and spread fast through the deep-house community online. On 28 October 2026 he returns with Masterstroke II.

Behind the music is real technical know-how: he trained in sound technology, radio production, and live events and technical production, so he understands the booth, the sound system and the show as a whole.
